Great series

I have been following along with this series since January and am loving them. Something new to look forward to each week. Another great set based on Rumpelstiltskin. This fairy tale is only vaguely known by me so it was a fun read finding out more about a lesser known fairy tale with a new twist. <3

Eliana is disappointed in her mother and very angry.

Eliana starts with being not-so-nice (verbally aggressive) but under the circumtances that is totally understandable. She now knows the truth, or at least some of it. This installment takes off where we left things in Eliana’s book 2. The search for the truth, and the search for the unicorns continues. I cared for the unicorns so much. I also cared for Eliana and her baby Fae. Will they find the unicorns? Will they find Rumpelstiltskin?

Superbly done

J.A. Armitage’s Kingdom of Fairytales multi-series concept is really an ideal template - what happens after the “happily ever after” in classic fairytales - for multiple series, and she’s certainly taken advantage of it in multiple series either written by herself or co-authored with others. That’s certainly the case with the Kingdom of Fairytales: Rumpelstiltskin she’s coauthored with Jennifer Ellison. I’ve not read anything by the latter author previously but that’s one of the beauties of this over-arching multi-series collection: it introduces me to new authors with a sort of quality seal as I can trust that Armitage will choose her co-authors well. She absolutely did this time as each of the books in this series, Queen of Unicorns (Book 1), Heiress of Gold (Book 2), Throne of Sacrifice (Book 3) and Goddess of Loss (Book 4) was superbly written and the overarching story arc is perfect. Taking place 18 years after the end of the classic tale, Rumpelstiltskin is back in the Vale, unicorns are being hunted down and the heroine here, Eliana, is seemingly facing insurmountable odds. Ehss as t follows over the course of these four books is a really wonderful and exciting tale that’s easy to highly recommend and definitely makes me want to find more books by the co-author here (I’m already addicted to Armitage so reading her books is a given). One caveat: I’ve reviewed these all at once as this series really is best read from Book 1 on, though that’s actually easy to do as each is fast to read.

Danger, deception and baby snuggles

Eliana's headstrong and independent ways continue to headbutt with her mother's smothering protection. The tension and danger mounts in this installment - both for Eliana and the unicorns. Romantic tension builds as well as she wrestles with burgeoning attraction and feelings of betrayal. There have been a few things that subtly reminded me of The Last Unicorn, but this book had a scene with undeniable parallels. Lots of future portends in the scene too!Four golden eyed royals show up at the end of this book too - earlier than we have seen in previous books. Maybe a bit more of a hint about what the overarching connection might be?This is an honest and voluntary review of an ARC
