I really enjoyed this tale. I have always loved the classic fairy tales and really enjoy creative retellings of the classic tales . This reimagined story shows us what happens after the happily ever after in the fairy tale of sleeping beauty. With this story we get to see Sleeping Beauty and Prince Charming after true love's kiss. The story starts some eighteen + years after princess Aurora and her prince marry and have children. The couple have four children. Their oldest child and only daughter, Princess Azia Rose of Deacon, has just celebrated her eighteenth birthday. As heir to the kingdom her parents have decided she needs a husband to help take care of her and her kingdom. The royal couple have started to see signs that the dark magic that put Aurora might be returning to the kingdom. Princess Azia does not to marry. She would like to travel first and experience life before she has to marry. I am Looking forward to the next book to see what happens in the next installment of Princess Azia’s story.
If the series is as well thought out as this first book, then I'm in for a treat. I loved meeting Sleeping Beauty again and seeing that her marriage brought 3 sons. The mystery of the story is who their adopted daughter Azia is, where did she come from and where did her magic come from.
Really really like the way this series has started. The world building is excellent and the storyline keeps you hooked the whole way through. This princess is bold, determined, and wants to live life before settling down. The trouble is her parents have decided she needs a husband to help take care of her and her kingdom. I would say it's good for mature teens on up. There's no adult content.
This is my first book by J.A. Armitage and I am highly impressed. The story is extremely well written with fantastic characters. I throughly enjoyed the story of what happens after the happily ever after of sleeping beauty. It has so much drama and action throughout it. There is a bit of a mystery that surrounds Azia and her family. The personalities of the characters are felt throughout the story. Azia at times can be a little childish in her thinking but otherwise she is feisty and strong. I can’t wait to see what happens as this one ends in a pretty big cliffhanger. It is a fantastic must read.
Didn't know what to expect from this book but it really surprise me in the best way possible!!! 🤩We are used at the HEA finales but, what happens after that? 🤔Well, look no further, this book is the amazing start of a retelling collection that you will totally love 😍Queen of Dragons is the story of Azia, Sleepy Beauty's daugther, where we find details not told in the original fairy tale and much more 🤓Great world building and story line, awesome FMC: Azia is an amazing young lady with a gentle and noble heart, strong will and determination, and twists and turns that will keep you turning pages and wanting for more.Thank God we will have a new book each week, so no long waiting, yay!!! 😉❤️
